How important is it that students study Hitler and Nazi Germany? Year 9 are currently investigating Hitler’s rise to power and the Nazi party’s ability to keep control of the German people. Schools all over the country study this crucial part of the 20th century, and numerous films and books cover the topic. Why is this such an important part of our learning in History? Are there any other areas of history that you think are essential learning for students?

I think that we learn about the nazis and hitler because they played a big part in world war 2 and if it wasn't for them the present day and every day following wouldn't be the same. If hitler won we would all be speaking german and wearing lederhosen.

I think that many people study about Hitler and Nazi Germany becuase it was a big thing that happened in the 20th Century and because of the events that happened in the period of 6 years that the war went on for such as the mass execution of the jews (The Holocaust). The Vast Empire of Germany and how tey came to power using every way possible and because of their leader Adolf Hitler. Hitler was a politician and Leader od the Nazi Party, he became Führer of Germany in 1933 thanks to hs strong voice and party and things he belived in and wanted to do to make Germany a great nation again.

I think schools study Hitler, The Nazis is because he led the Germans in WW2. This is a war which we won so we are studying our opponents and their tactics. His decisions have led to us leading our life today.

I think that we should also learn about the new advances in weapons during the second world war and how they affected the outcome.

I think that Nazi Germany and Hitler were a crucial part of the 20th century. Germany had played a huge role in both World Wars, and it shouldn't be a thing to be forgotten. It is such a famous event in history and is well known all around the world, it is also generally a common sense topic that people should know quite a lot about. Especially if your living in a country which took part in either of the World Wars.
