Year 12 students have been studying Globalisation, we have been looking at McDonalds as casestudy. Can you suggest why McDonalds is considered a TNC?

A TNC is a company that has operations in more than one country. Mcdonalds therefore operates in many countries around the world providing fast food. Thus making Mcdonalds a TNC.

McDonalds is considered a Trans National Company because its brand is spread throughout 31,000 restaurants in 118 different countries, employing 1.5 million people in total.
It operates as a franchise and so over the years has had the benefit of expanding throughout the world in a short period of time.
Therefore McDonalds has many trade links throughout the world, spreading this particular culture of fast food for on the go.

McDonalds has restaurants in many different countries, it’s one of the reasons that it’s so successful and makes such a huge profit. As it operates in many different countries it makes it a Transnational Corporation, as it has customers all over the world. Its fast food is basically the same where ever you go and so people travelling between different countries know what to expect when eating there, making it so popular.

McDonalds is considered to be a TNC becasue it is operational in many countries around the world. It has many characteristics that are associated with TNC's such as:having their headquaters in an MEDC, earning huge profits, which are bigger than some countries GDP, cutting costs and trying the gain the most from economis of scale etc. also many protestors campaign against McDonalds gaining it a lot of negeative meida attention which is als similar to most other TNC's.

TNC's are transnational corporations, these are companies with operations and business in many countries worldwide. McDonalds is one such example of a TNC, with stores in over 100 countries and an income of over $40 billion per year (twice as much as Afghanistan's GDP). All of this income and the vast number of worldwide stores available to much of the worlds population make it a prime example of a TNC and one of the largest in the world.

McDonalds has branches all over the globe which operates in all major cities within each country. It provides a fast food service which has changed cultures worldwide.

Firstly McDonalds is a TNC because it is a company which operates and provides a service in more than one country. McDonalds is a worldwide known business and has a worldwide name and the large majority of people can easily recongise the world famous golden arches without even seeing the name. This therefore makes Mcydeez a TNC!

A trans national company is one that has alot of power economically all over the world. Macdonald's has profits of over40billion dollars a year and has a vast majority of the money spent ion the fast food industry every year. This i think makes them a TNC.

Macdonald's a TNC are a powerful company which operate all over the world and have profits which exceed up to $41 bn dollars every year more than some countries put together. They rule the fast food industry and their M sign is known more around the world than the Christian cross.

I think that McDonalds can be considered a TNC due to its global presence, and wide range of stores across the world. In Addition i feel that McDonalds like other TNC's such as tesco, hold the majority market share, especially in the UK, this could also be a reason they could be considered a sucessfull TNC.

Mc Donald’s is considered a transnational corporation as it works on a global scale. It dominates the market and is a very powerful company. It has 31.000 restaurants in 118 different countries meaning it is working all over the world. It has 50 million customers a day and employs 1.5 million people. Mc Donalds is recognised by people all over the world, and is the most popular fast food restaurant generating $41 billion a year. It earns more money a year than some country’s governments actually have all together. These factors contribute to the transnational corporation as it works on a global scale in different countries, employing many people, and giving a service to everyone.
