The British Empire



Year 13 have been analysing the relationship between Britain and her colonies in the 20th century. During the interwar years Empire was seen as both an opportunity and a liability, but Britain certainly wasn’t ready to give up her imperial power. Nevertheless, many forces within India and Africa were pushing for change. How were decisions made in the Third Reich?

Hitler and the Nazi's tried to give the impression of a highly organised and clearly strucutured regime, that were in complete control of Germany between 1933-1945. Indeed, Hitler was seen by some historians as an omnipotent dictator. More recent research has led historians to question this interpretation.
