Y10 Geography Winners!

Mrs Ahern's Y10 GCSE Geography class have been looking at different land forms. I listened to students describing different land forms with play-doh models. I was impressed with all the groups. The one I thought had the edge is shown in the picture above. I would like Y10 students to tell me what was good about this model and the explanation you heard in class. Many thanks to Mrs Ahern and Y10 students for your interesting work here.

I voted for this because it looked the best it had a Dragon and it was clear

The landform that the winning group created a play-doh model for was- caves, stacks and stumps. I think they presented this well and their sculpture in my opinion was one of the best in the class.

I think this group was picked because the group explained their playdoh model in excellent detail.

I think that my groups model was good because it clearly demonstrated the relationship between Caves, Arches, Stacks and Stumps. You can see that over time hydraulic action from waves erodes the headland. The model along with the presentation also showed our groups understanding of the topic and of our specific and individual knowledge.

I think that Mr Davies chose this one as the winner because it was modelled good as it was spaced out well and was clearly explained. It showed where the waves were and had a dinosaur.

I think this model won because it clearly showed caves, arches, stacks and stumps and had a very real and life like model of a dragon on it.

I think that this groups model won because it was the clearest model and the most well made and well explaned. The model was caves, arches, stacks and stumps. The model demonstrates how hydraulic action can wear away large sections of coastline.

Well done Year 10 - my decision was based upon the accuracy of the models (including scaling), use of specialist vocabularly in the explanation and finally the dragon demonstrated some creativity. I am looking forward to the next Play-doh models soon :-)
