AS Students have been learning about the Cosmological Argument as proof for the existence of God. Students were given the challenge of using Play-doh to make a model to help their explanations of Aquinas' Three Ways. I was very impressed with how the students tackled the challenge and the various ways they illustrated the Three Ways. Well done kiddies :-)
Students please leave a comment saying how this activity has helped to reinforce your understanding of the Cosmological Argument.

By creating a model of the idea of Aquinas' three ways I found that this is an easy and simple way of then being able to remember each of the 3 ways. This is because I can now remember the models and images instead of lots of words about the ways.
This is a visual representation of the cosmological arguement which helps me relate this to the arguement and therefore have a better understanding of it.

I found that the visual task help me understand how events caused other events to happen which all link to god.

the playdo activity helped me to understand one of the aquinas's ways. by doing this group activity this made me understand the 3 ways more clearly becasue we had different discussions about different models.

It is a good way of explining the three ways as, it helps you to visulaise the ways. As just reading about them, alot use the same words and they are easy to mix up, but creating them in play doh helped to tell the differences.

This activity has helped me to reinforce my understaning of the Cosmological Argument. This is because it has helped me to understand the Three Ways of Thomas Aquinas more clearly such that they all prove the existence of God.
This activity has helped to reinforce my understanding of the Cosmological Argument, as it has provided a visual, physical demonstration of the cosmological argument and the meaning behind it.
I am a visual learning, so this activity has helped my understanding of the cosmological argument because I now have a picture for each of the three ways that will help me remember the key ideas.
this activity helped me to understand the cosmological argument because i could break the concept down step by step in a different way rather then reading up on it.
my group chose "the neccessary being" and this activity helped me to understand better as i was not sure to how god being non contingent related, but now i do!

THe task helped me becuase it aloud me to visaualy reprasent my ideas about Cosmological Argument and to also see others ideas in an easy to understand visual form. I found that it was a quick and easy way to take the information as people had something to reprasent thier ideas and an easy way to take the idea in.

The activity in which we students grouped together to make models out of play doh to represent one of Aquina's ways to prove the existence of God, was very productive and beneficial.
Having the oppertunity to extend my ideas, thoughts and explanation of Aquinas's 2nd way to the rest of my group wa very productive for me to develop my own understanding and interpretation of the way. Also hearing the views of other peers in the class helped to extend my knowledge on the subject matter.
The activity that we had done about the cosmological argument has helped learning because it helped visualise what we were doing rather than just being told what we had to know.
The activity concerning St Thomas Aquinas' three arguments using play dough to represent them was a very effective activity. This is because it is different to the standard 'text book' activity. By usin play dough, it helped us create visual impressions of the arguments.
