"Do you think war is ever necessary?"

I do think that war can be necessary as if war is a last resort then it is completely fine as other forms of peace-making have failed such as trying to create a ceasefire. If all of these other actions had been tried and had failed then war would be ok. Also Jesus never condemned soldiers he met, this must therefore mean that Jesus felt wars were ok and necessary.

b) Do you think the UN is important? Give two reasons for your point of view (4 marks)

Yes I think the UN is important because their aim is to preserve world peace and to remove the causes of conflict. This is important because in today's society, wars are taking place around the world that are unjust and for reasons that are not justified. The UN is important because it is trying to stop this.

I also think that the UN is important because it has five permanent members: USA, UK, Russia, China and France. This makes the UN important because it encourages unity between some of the world's most powerful nations.

I think that all not all religious people should become pacifists as they should have a choice on wheteher they woiuld like to fight or support a situation. A second reason why i believe that not all people should become pacifists is because theye may believe it is their duty to become involved or that they may believe it is allowed such as muslims who should follow the lead of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and he fought in battles.

"Bullies deserve sympathy not punishment."
i dont agree with this because like christians i agree that humans are a creation of god made in gods image so bullying is mistreating gods creation and is wrong. so therefore bullies should be punished for mistreating gods creation.
i also disagree with this because bullies shouldnt be treat better because they have hurt someone else. they should be treat as they have treat other people.
some people may disagree with me because they believe that bullies may have reasons for treating people like they do and therefore deserve some kind of help to find out why they have been treating people wrongly.
some other people such as christians may disagree with me because they believe that bullying has harmful effects on society, the victims are likely to be prevented from achieveing to the best of their ability and the bully is likely to go on bullying unless they are stopped. christains should always try to make society better.

Excellent answers so far full course students. I am really impressed to see that you are starting with 'I' in part b and part c questions in order to show the examiner it is your view that you are discussing.

Keep up the good work I know you will do well.
